Closing Ceremonies to Momma’s Birthday Weekend!

Today was ANOTHER day of celebrating Momma’s birthday! The Lafayette Lawsons, Gigi, Poppa, and Mada all came down to the Lebanon Pizza Hut for birthday buffet at high noon! It was very busy, but it was very fun! Parks and I got to play with Riley and Taylor and made several inspections of the bathroom, too!
After lunch, we headed back to our house where we all played dress up while Momma got another load of presents! All I heard was an occasional, “Vera! Cool!” and, “I can take this Coach purse to New York with me!” and let’s not forget, “Holy Cow! That’s a lot of spending money! That’s ridiculous!”
We then did a quick scooter ride around the court until the rain decided to put a stop to our outdoor fun. No problem, time for singing, cake, and Just Dance on the Wii (on loan from Momma’s friend at school).
Now we are eating dinner and planning our bedtime rituals.

Field Trip

Yesterday we went to the zoo in Indy for a field trip. It was chilly, but I had lots of fun! We got to see a dolphin show and I learned that sharks flip their tails left and right and dolphins flip theirs up and down! Who knew?!? My day was capped off by a an afternoon with Gigi! The fun didn’t stop there…another Friday night slumber party in Momma and Daddy’s room! Hello weekend!

Ice Cream Paradise!

Today was the official season opening of Ice Cream Paradise! It was too cold and wet to go play on the playground, but Parker, Momma, and I (and about 100 of our closest Lebanon friends) converged on the tiny little ice cream shop to get a frosty treat. Mmmmmmm, I can almost taste Spring!

Baby Shower

Saturday was Aunt Renee’s baby shower…or should I say MONSOON of presents! There were so many presents that Aunt Renee had to take an intermission! Man, there are a whole lotta’ people that love Baby Mitchell and he’s not even here yet! I can’t wait to see what Christmas brings when he’s actually here and working all his baby cuteness on people!
I kept busy having fun with Riley and Taylor while Aunt Renee was busy putting her gift unwrapping skills to the ultimate test. We played tag, dinosaurs, helped ourselves to some blue punch, and played stroller races for a minute. After a big day, Aunt Carrie asked Momma if I could come hang at their house until Momma was finished cleaning up from the party. I had so much fun dressing up and playing with Riley and Taylor! Thanks, Aunt Carrie, for letting my come play at your house! Thanks to Gigi and Poppa for letting me come play before the party, too. It was a very big day, but I had lots of fun!

Sweetheart Swim Meet

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a swim meet at the HUGE IUPUI Natatorium. I swam in 4 different events…the most I’ve ever competed in! I improved most of my times…especially in my Freestyle. Parker had fun playing with his Leapster, but eventually racked out (we were out late partying with Gigi and Poppa the night before, so that was his excuse!). IUPUI Swim Meet

Paaaaaaarrrrrr-tay!

I’m very popular and have an extremely busy social calendar. As a case in point, take this past weekend’s festivities. We kicked off Saturday with a birthday party at Keely’s house. As soon as I walked in, there were 10 other girls there that started screaming and hugging all over the place! We ran right up stairs and started playing hide and seek and tag and watching High School Musical and dancing crazy around Keely’s room. Then, the Silly Safari show started and we got to see a baby alligator, a legless lizard, a ferret, a blue tongued skink, a baby bunny, a tortoise, a frog, and lots of other crazy animals. I touched mostly all of them but my favorite was the frog because he climbed up my arm. It tickled! After the show, we had cake and ice cream. The icing was made of Laffy Taffy!

We’re not done yet! All of the girls from the first party packed up and headed over to the pool at the Comfort Inn for Sydney’s party! We ran right in the door and jumped in the pool. I started swimming and playing with all of the girls. We had a big beach ball and the boys took it and kept playing Keep-Away. Swimming works up an appetite, so we ate another cake! Sydney opened all of her gifts and then it was time to come home. We were pretty tired from all of the excitement, so we hit the hey early Saturday night to rest up for the big game on Sunday.

Update: This morning (Monday), I lost another tooth. It is my left front tooth, so now I have a gap in my smile. Daddy says I look cute!

Benihana

We had to run a few errands today, including a trip to Colts-crazy Costco. But, we got to have a pretty fun lunch at Benihana! That is the place where they cook on your table and the guy flips things around and says funny stuff. I got to eat shrimp and rice, Momma had steak, Parker had chicken, and they forgot to cook Daddy’s (it was called sushi, but I call it “squishy”).

Swim Meet & Celebration

Today was my 3rd swim meet…and it was doosey! We got to C’ville High School at a little after noon, and the place was packed to the rafters…literally! Some of the events had 70 kids, so even though my even was only the 9th of the day, we were there for about 3 hours before I raced. It was worth it, though, because I rocked my 50 Backstroke. I shaved more than 8 seconds off of my last time and broke the 1 minute mark! Check me out:

The best part was, the whole crew was there to see it! And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. It was Mema, Gigi, Poppa, Aunt Carrie, Uncle Manata, Riley, Taylor, and of course Mommy, Daddy, and Parks.

It was also the first time I swam the 50 Free, so I now have a benchmark time to compare to going forward. Pepa and TC were able to make that event and officially put the stands at over-capcaity, especially in the “Cheering for Morgan Lee” section.

After the meet, we packed in our snow covered cars and made our way down the street to the C’ville B-Dubs to celebrate Poppa’s birthday. Poppa opened his presents just before we chowed down on our usual favorites. Then, the best part…chocolate cake, courtesy of Aunt Carrie, Riley, and Taylor. We also sugared the sweet tooth with some special cookies covered with chocolate that Gigi helped Parker and I make during our 2 hour delay yesterday. All in all, a pretty full day…in more ways than one. Thanks to everyone for making it out to see my swim meet…it was great to have you all cheering for me!
