Whew, what a whirlwind birthday blowout!  We kicked off the weekend with the traditional Gibby’s donut breakfast.  Instead of going to Gibby’s and eating there, though, we made Daddy go and break them back for us so we could hang out in our jammies for just a little bit longer.  But, that didn’t last too long because we then had to get dressed and head down to Celebrity Kids for our photo shoot.  We’re pros at this by now, so the pics came off without a hitch…including some with Parks, some with the whole fam, and a couple of wardrobe changes.  After pics, we hit Red Robin for a fun birthday lunch.  I actually turned 7 while we were sitting at the table (1:21 pm)!  We capped off the meal with a fun ice cream sundae and a crazy happy birthday song from the Red Robin crew.

Then, on Sunday, we kicked it all off again!  We all met up at Cici’s Pizza and cornered our own section of the place for Round 1 of birthday goodness.  There was a table overflowing with gifts from everyone that loves me!  After we tore in to all of those and checked out the loot, those went out to the car and we prepared ourselves for Round 2!  We all migrated over to Monkey Joe’s to get in to the bouncing fun.  It wasn’t long at all before all of my bestest friends started to arrive to join in and give those bounce houses a workout.  We covered the whole joint more than a few times when it was time to head in for cake and…more presents!  Then, right back out to the bounce zone for more running, jumping, and sliding.  Finally, we were all pretty worn out and it was time to wind down and pack it in for home.  I really appreciate all of the birthday wishes and the awesome love from everyone on this super special day.

Morgan’s 7th Birthday

Dear Morgan,

Happy 7th Birthday!  Usually, these posts gush on and on about how we can’t believe you’re another year older and how it can’t be so.  This year, though, I think our impression is a little different.  Mommy’s favorite phrase is “she looks like she is 12 in that outfit.”  Or, “that book she is reading would be tough for a 3rd grader.”  With all of the things you’re doing and accomplishing this year, sometimes it is hard to remember that you are only just now 7!

For example, you started with ballet lessons and now you’re on the swim team and practicing 3 days a week & competing in real swim meets!  You’re reading books to your brother and know how to make your own breakfast.  You used to wear anything Mommy dressed you in, but now you have fashion opinions and favorite outfits.  You’ve had play dates with classmates at their house after school.  You have birthday parties with the whole classroom invited.  You have your own laptop, camera, and MP3 player.  My favorite, though is when you write your own books…complete with characters, plots, and illustrations.  Are these things all 6-year-olds do?  I don’t know, but they’re things that our 6-year-old did!  What will our 7-year-old be up to!?!?

Well, whatever it is, I’m sure it will be fun.  You’ll drag Mommy and Daddy along as you continue to sprout up on those crazy legs, learn new things, and have new experiences.  We’re up for it!  We’ll always support, encourage, love, and appreciate you.  And, we’ll never lose sight of how fortunate we are to have a wonderful girl like you!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Nicknames: Una, Petunia, Crazy Legs
Likes: I like reading and even making my own books. I’m big in to watching iCarly, Phineas and Ferb, Wizards of Waverly Place, and SpongeBob SquarePants. I like playing with Parker…most of the time. I love going to Gibby’s for donuts in the morning, but also like eating corn dogs, breaded chicken sandwiches, shrimp on the grill, and scrambled eggs (not all at the same time!).
Dislikes: When Parker touches me. Except for, of course, the times when I’m trying to touch him…in which case I dislike that he gets mad when I touch him :) . For some reason, I don’t like hot dogs at all anymore. I really don’t like being told that it is time to turn off the TV! Gaaahhh!
Notes: We’ve traveled like crazy this year. First, a trip to Cozumel, Mexico on a big huge boat for Spring Break. Then, we visited the Great White North for Fall Break and saw Niagara and Toronto. I’m in Mrs. Hall’s First Grade class at Central and my best friends at school are Riley, Jessica, Sydney, and Keeley. I’m always crafting somehow…making something, drawing something, writing a story, or pretending to work or teach school.

As explained by Morgan:

Today was my first ever swim meet. I got to race other people and I also won a race. I had to do warmups, and then wait, and then race, and then wait, and then race. And then, we went to Cheeseburger In Paradise. My first race was a 25 backstroke. I was in the first heat. I won the first race. I got a lei. My second race was the 25 freestyle. I was in 3rd place in my heat. My time was 32.4 seconds.
