As is our usual Lebanon Lawson tradition, we started our family adventure veeerrrry early in the morning. We packed in the car, giggled and messed around for a few minutes, then konked out while Daddy made his way across Ohio. The drive was very long and we got pretty restless, but are pretty good car riders, so we were able to push through. The best news about the drive…we got to be in 2 states we’ve never been before…Pennsylvania and New York!
The highlight of the drive was delayed due to traffic in Buffalo, but we finally made it over the bridge an in to the Great White North!

We first got a glimpse of the Niagara Falls from the bridge, but wanted to get a little more up close & personal. So, we checked in and moved our stuff up to the room, then headed back out to adventure around the town! Mommy was a little taken back by the, ahem, well…more liberal Canadian stores along the street that had really teeny weeny underpants and stuff
. Daddy zipped us up and down the tourist areas and we found our way down to the Falls park. But, by this time, Parks had fallen asleep! So, we didn’t get out just yet…instead, we just drove by a few times and took in the huge waterfalls and great sights from the road. Everything is pretty much walking distance, so we just decided to park back at our hotel and take the rest of the evening on foot. Daddy hoisted Parks up on his shoulders and Mommy and I held hands as we made our way down Clifton Hill to the Falls. We made a bee line for the American Falls and posed for a few Kodak Moments before making our way south to the Horseshoe Falls. About halfway there, we all started to get drenched by the mist that splashes up from the 4 million gallons of water a minute that pour over the cliff. We made it just about all the way up to Table Rock, then turned around to dry off and save that adventure for a time when there was more sunshine!
Next, we made our way back up Clifton Hill and jumped in to Rainforest Cafe (I got to pick where we ate tonight!). Parker and I could hardly finish our dinner because we were mesmerized by the elephants, gorillas, leopards, and other jungle animals that all moved and made noises throughout the restaurant. We even got to hear a rainstorm with thunder and lightning, but luckily we managed to stay dry at our table.
Finally, with our bellies full and a full day of travel and site seeing under our belts, we decided to pack it in. We bundled up for the chilly and windy walk back to our room, then promptly suited up for bed and hit the hay to rest up for more adventures tomorrow!
So Parks and I just wanted to thank Daddy for convincing Momma to go to the Children’s Museum yesterday! We had lots of fun even though it was the third time we’ve been there in 2 months…making the most of our new membership!
Morgan:
“Momma, if you have more folds in you brain it means you’re smarter. ”
…pause…
“Parker must have a lot of folds on the ‘weird’ side of his brain.”
The post below was dictated by Morgan:
I had a day with Riley and Taylor. They came to my house. It was really fun, and here is the start of how they came here for the day.
We got to pick them up and then took them all over the place. First to KMart and then to Chick-fil-a. And it was a lot, a lot of fun. At Chick-fil-a, we got to play on the playground there. I hanged out with Taylor a lot and I got to play with Riley and Taylor and Parker. And, we got to play inside the tree. The little tree for 3 year olds and younger. We played superheroes. We played cheetahs and bats.
Then we went to the mall and played more on the playground. We played on the ambulance, the band aid, the thermometer, and the medicine bottle.
Then we got to go home and we played dress up. Riley dressed up like a pink fairy. Taylor dressed up like Hannah Montana. I dressed up like a princess, an American Girl, and a pirate. It was exciting!
Then, it was time for dinner, then we went down to the basement to watch Monsters vs. Aliens. It was funny!
And, then it was time for bed. Riley was making a lot of noise. Like Parker. He makes a lot of noise at night too. Then I went to Mommy and Daddy’s room and I got to sleep way faster there.
In the morning we had breakfast and a giant pancake was given to me. We were watching TV, playing chase, and playing Elefun. It was so much fun. We even had BFF Club. Then it was time for us to play ball and duck-duck-goose and tag.
We got dressed and brushed our teeth and then it was time to leave. Riley and Taylor went to their house to stay there. Then, it was time for us to go to the grocery and we got a movie car cart.
