Last Monday we headed to the orthodontist to make my inital visit. I was hoping to walk out with a set of braces and NO surgery. I broke even, I didn’t get braces…today, but I don’t have to get any surgery. The plan to correct my underbit is: as soon as my top two chompers fall out and my new pearlys begin to come it, I get four little braces across the top to start pulling my top teeth over my bottom ones. Sounds weird, but I’m super stoked about getting cute braces! Also, within the next year to year and a half, I will be a getting an appliance that widdens my too narrow top jaw. Really? My mouth is too small?!? Interesting!
Wednesday and Thursday were the regular camp days that I’ve come to love! Wednesday was movie day…Journey to the Center of the Earth. Thursday we hit the public pool, and then embarked on a dual purpose craft. We made fossils out of objects we found at the park using mashed up coffee grounds. Momma and came to the conclusion that my newly made fossil might suspiciously look like….kitty poop! So we used this opportunity to pull a prank on Daddy…we put the “fossil” on the floor near his dresser. Just as we’d hoped, Kitty got the blame for leaving him a little present! Momma and I enjoyed our prank, but quickly bailed out Madison when I picked it up and smelled it announcing that it smelled just like coffee! Gotcha’ Daddy!
Traditional fair tear down begain with a drive through a monsoon, and ended with a party! Here’s how it unfolded…Since Uncle TC and Pepa had already knocked out tons of tear down the night before, Parker and I cornered Aunt Renee (Aunt Renee begged us to play with her…how could we say no??) and confiscated Daddy’s IPhone to keep ourselves busy. Soon it was lunch time at Pepe’s, a nap at Mema’s house, then off to Uncle TC’s house for his surprise birthday party! There’s nothing I love better than a surprise birthday party! However, it may have been trumpted by the big shopvac box that Parker and I turned into a dog house after TC was done with it! Awesome, we go to someone else’s birthday and end up with the coolest toy…a giant box! We partied super hard until Momma and Daddy decided to take us home around 10:00 PM!! Happy Birthday, TC, and thanks for the party!
Now on to current events. We finally got to spend a day a Mema’s pool…6 hours to be exact! Now that’s the way summer should be spent! 13 days left until I enter Central Elementary as a 1st grader!
Momma just spent the last 45 minutes typing a monster post, and POOF….gone! She forgot to save it before she tried to post it! Sorry….she’ll help me get a new one up ASAP.
How do you follow a day full of fun at the horse track and playing with the Kopps? Well, spending the day at Six Flags with the Byrnes, of course!
After a tasty breakfast and a thank you to the Kopps for letting us play & stay, we started rolling towards Gurnee, IL to hook up with the Byrnes and partake in rides, coasters, food, and fun. From the moment we stepped out of the car in to the parking lot, we knew we were in luck…the sun was shining, there was a calm breeze, and not a cloud in the sky. It was beautiful! So, we celebrated by jumping straight on a coaster first thing. I had never really been on a roller coaster before, so I didn’t know what to expect. The Whizzer (the world’s only spiral-lift coaster) shot us around, whipped in to corners, and dropped down hills faster than I’ve ever moved before! I was a little scared at the first drop, but loved the ride. I told Daddy that my knees were still a little like jelly when I got off the ride, and he said that means it worked. That was just warm-up folks because I rode two, yes two, more roller coasters before the day was over. That includes The Dark Knight ride, which is an indoor roller coaster in total darkness except for the flashes of Joker’s henchmen and random strobe lights.
It wasn’t all high flying thrills, though. We hit just about every kiddie land ride for all of my little friends. Jude went up in the Wiggles Fruit Salad ride with Parker and Daddy and Adam and I too the Big Red Car for a spin. Mommy and I also rode the Roaring Rapids ride with Jennifer, Adam, Daddy, and Parks, where we all got soaked to the bone. Another water adventure was the Buccaneer Battle that put us on a pirate ship armed with water cannons. The spectators had artillery, too, so the whole ride was a shootout between the boaters and the land lubbers, where everyone involved comes away looking like they walked the plank. There were plenty of other rides and shows, but we ended the day with a nice ride around the top deck of the two story carousel. It was a great way to cap off the day of excitement with Adam, Jude, Jennifer, and Rob before going on yet another ride…the long ride home!
Friday night we headed to Mema and Pepa’s house for a quick evening swim, some McDonald’s Happy Meals compliments of Uncle TC, and some really great fireworks! Of course, in my usual need to turn every event into something crafty, I made signs to hold up after each firework to show my overall reaction…there was a “Yes” for super awesome fireworks…mostly TC’s, “OK,” and “No,” for all those silly bottle rockets Daddy and TC kept shooting off! I loved them all, but Parker was SUPER scared of the loud sounds. Pepa remedied the problem by hooking Parks up with his workshop headphone that help to cancel out all the big noise. He must have really liked them because he didn’t want to take them off! The bombs were truely bursting in air! We decided to hit the hay around 10 PM on Mema and Pepa’s bedroom floor. Momma said we were out like lights in less than 10 minutes.
The next morning, Mommy and Daddy celebrated the 4th with the traditional trek to Delphi to log some hours dippin’ ice cream in the Shack, while Parks and I spent the day with Mema and Pepa. We got breakfast, played at the mall, visited Uncle TC’s house, and then got lunch from McDonald’s when IT happened…my 3rd baby tooth declared independance from the rest of my mouth! That’s right! I lost another tooth while trying to open my bag of Apple Dippers…plus, I swallowed it! The Tooth Fairy must have had her GPS actived, because even though I didn’t have a tooth under my pillow to trade, she still slipped some American cashflow under my pillow! Thanks, Tooth Fairy! Hope you were able to dodge all the raindrops and fireworks during the night shift last night!
Again, in traditional patriotic tradition, Mema and Pepa took us up to Canal Days to see everyone hangin’ out (and soakin’) in the shack. Much to my surprise, my friends Adam, Jude, and Jennifer SB, were there with the usual crowd! JSB, you are truely one of the family once you’ve made the pilmigride to Canal Days…we’ll teach ya’ the secret handshake later!
After visiting everyone, making a birdhouse with Poppa, and a quick run through the museum with Uncle Manata, it was time to head for home. We were all pretty tired…but hungry. We tried to go to Pizza King…CLOSED…due to holiday! Seriously? The Snack Shack is open on holidays…come on Pizza King! We ended up at Arni’s. Momma and I worked on some addition problems that must have been pretty good since she took pictures and kept telling me how proud she was. (Momma Note: Seriously, my Stinky is adding 4 digit numbers with carrying that I showed her how to do in literally two problems…AND adding commas for place value! I know I’m boasting, but that is WAY SUPER COOL! ISTEP ain’t got nothin’ on my accident prone chicka! Talk about proud to be an American!)
Today was a very lazy day at home…we are currently still in our jammies, and Daddy just walked in the door from another day at the Shack. Momma has done LOTS of cleaning out…if fact, I tried on every stitch of clothing in my room, and quickly realized that I’ve grown a TON! I really have NO pants in my drawer…all too short! For all this cleaning she’s doing, there are sure a lot of piles of stuff everywhere…but she seems to know where it all will go!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July Weekend…thanks to Mema, Pepa, and Uncle TC for keeping Parks and I entertained while Momma and Daddy were at the Canal Park. Mada, thanks for our festive attire! Gigi, hats off to another 4th at the Shack…and thanks to everyone for such a great time! Love to you all!
