Contrary to the title of this post, it didn’t start out so fun for the Momma. After a rough night of adjusting to the boat and having the sickies that everyone else had the previous week, she wasn’t so early bird to rise…but Parks, Daddy and I were! We were up so early that we had to kill time exploring the boat before the breakfast buffet even opened! We walked all over the boat checking out all three pools, one with a picture of Nemo painted on the bottom, the playground, volleyball courts, ping-pong tables, shops, the big chess pieces that were as tall as Little Man, the forward deck, and the aft deck (fancy word for the back of the boat). With all of that exploring out of the way, we decided to hit the breakfast buffet. We had cereal, eggs, potatoes, and milk. It was delicious!
With Momma still down for the count, we played a round of mini golf where, shockingly enough, I made a NBF! However, she seemed more interested in hanging out with my little bro. Maybe she likes dudes with spiky hair.
We decided it was time to check on the Momma. She was up and moving when we returned to our room, so we decided to take her out and show her all of our super cool exploration finds! We even hit a way cheesy show in the theater about shopping in Cozumel. It was totally worth it, though. They have seats in there that are like a couch, but spin around! I only got to spin a couple of times before Momma and Daddy put the kibosh to my spinning party. Everyone has to have a party pooper…usually it’s Parker, though! ?
Next was it was time for the scheduled muster call. I didn’t quite get it. If this was the muster call, when would we be doing the ketchup call? No one ever gave me a straight up answer on that one. Parker enjoyed wearing his life jacket so much during the call that cried when it was time to take it off. As a matter of fact, he cried a lot of times during the trip when things weren’t going just his way. When he throws tantrums in public, I tell Momma that I’m embarrassed. She replies with, “Aren’t we all.” Sorry – I digressed there for a minute.
After lunch at the buffet where Parks and I scarfed down cheese pizza, we finally hit the Nemo pool! We splashed around for hours out there in the 80 degree sunshine. It was AWESOME! We did get several scrapes and bruises from climbing in and out of the pool, but it were shallow enough that Little Man could swim without his wings on so it was worth it. We were pretty tired from our time in the sun, so we headed back to the room for some well deserved nap time.
At 5:15 there was a reception in honor of our captain with free drinks (that meant something totally different for Mommy and Daddy than it did for Parker and I)! We got to meet the captain and all of his helpers while Parks and I sipped on Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris. Parker liked his drink so much that he ended up finishing mine, too!
It was Elegant Night for dinner…AKA…old ladies dresses up in LOTS of bright red lipstick, flashy sequins that sparkled like disco balls and very tall purple hair dragging grumpy old men with plaid shirts and striped ties behind them. Our family opted for a more casual look, but Parker and I probably got the most complements! All those ladies in their fancy dresses kept telling Momma and Daddy how well behaved we were, how cute we were, and asked if Parker’s hair did that on its own. Seriously? He just wakes up and he has a perfectly mohawked coiffure? They weren’t the last to ask that question, strangely enough! Once dinner began, the waiters and waitresses sang and danced for us while Parks ate cheese pizza (again!) and I had a toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
We decided to hit Doc Holiday’s to listen to some Karaoke. One guy was so bad that Parker kept putting his fingers in his ears! He really was “that bad.” Daddy tried to talk me into going on stage, but I didn’t want to make the other singers feel bad. After about 30 minutes of tunes, Momma took Parks and me back to the room to get ready for bed while Daddy gambled away my college fund. All $10.00 of it…that’s 140 Pesos for anyone keeping currency score! Watch out, Cozumel! Here come the Lebanon Lawsons!
