Oh where to begin….Let’s see….
This month we are studying the Arctic region in preschool, and Ms. Michele brought an igloo (tent) into our room! It’s so cool! We’ve made ice bird feeders to put outside, built igloos out of sugar cubes and icing (we liked eating the icing the best), made snow paintings, and each of us had to do a report on an arctic animal. Mine was the arctic hare. Momma and Daddy helped me make my poster and find four very interesting facts to share with the rest of my class when it was my day to present. 1. The arctic hare can run up to 40 miles per hour. 2. Some arctic hares don’t stay white year-round; some turn gray in the summer. 3. Arctic hares don’t hibernate in the winter. They huddle together for warmth. 4. Arctic hares are herbivores. They eat roots, berries, and willow twigs.
I’ve started reading Dick and Jane to Momma every night. I get so excited reading the words on the page that I giggle sometimes! I got to take my book to class today and read to all of my friends while Ms. Michele cleaned up after lunch. I told Momma that I liked being the teacher because everyone listens to me!
Quotable Quotes by MorganLee:
After a lengthy discussion about how we acquired Madison from the Shelter, Morgan concluded with the following, “Momma, since Madison is so smart, we should enter her in a cat competition!”
“Kobe’s arctic animal eats my arctic animal.”
“Kobe says he’s smarter than a scientist. That makes me very mad, and I don’t like it when he sits next to me.”
“Eskimos don’t like to be called Eskimos. They are Inuits.”
Make sure to check out Parker’s website to hear about his very first trip to The Children’s Museum!
Well, Momma says it’s time to get back to the grind…whatever that means?!?! Anyway, I just wanted to post a couple of things before I turn in for the night (yes…I’m already in bed…just go along with it!). After the craziness of Christmas was over, Momma did a monster clean out of the house. She wouldn’t even let Parker and I in the toy room for what seemed like an eternity! We had so much trash that we had close to 24 bags piled up outside our house waiting for the garbage man! Daddy was embarrassed…Mommy felt accomplished! On Thursday night, we all headed to Once Upon a Child to get some cash flow for all the clothes we’ve outgrown, and then it was on to BW3′s to spend it! That’s the new hotness it seems for the Lebanon Lawson Family because we even went there yesterday! On Friday, Momma and Daddy took me to see the Chipmunk movie in Carmel. I loved it, even though my seat kept folding up on me! I downed a diet coke, some popcorn, AND a box of Skittles all while laughing and pointing at the screen!
On Saturday it was off to Mema’s for another gathering of family! TC brought the chocolate fondue fountain…heaven! Aunt Diana, Uncle Bob, Shannon, Brandy, and Zachary all joined our usual crowd to eat, talk, and play the Wii. It turns out that Shannon is an awesome Wii bowler! I managed to stay awake until Midnight but crashed in the car on the way home. Parker, however, talked, laughed, and giggled all the way home!
The New Year was ushered in at our house by Aunt Carrie, Uncle Manata, Riley, Taylor, Rob & Jennifer, and Adam & Jude! After a while of playing like maniacs in the tunnels, Riley, Taylor, and Parks went to bed. Adam and I went to the basement and played computer games like pros! Jude chilled with his momma…he’s a very mellow little guy. I wish Parker would have been that way when he was that small! All the so-called grown-ups played Guitar Hero on the Wii. I guess being big doesn’t mean you have to grow up!
I managed to stay awake until 11:45 missing the new year by 15 minutes! The Byrne family packed up and headed home shortly after Dick Clark kissed his wife celebrating 2008, and the Lafayette Lawson’s stayed at our house. Riley and Taylor even slept in my room! I love it when they come over! Thank you to everyone who brought in 2008 with my family and me! We partied like rock stars…or parents with kids that WANT to party like rock stars! Love to everyone!
