On Sunday, Mommy decided to let Daddy have some quiet time since he was on duty all day Saturday. So she packed Parker and me up and headed to Mema’s for a cookout. We watched some cars go around and around on the TV for awhile, but then we soon headed to a furniture store to check out TC and Renee’s new bedroom furniture. We hung out there long enough for Parker and me to find a Lego table and a Veggie Tale movie. Parks loved playing with the Legos about as much as I did!
We headed back to Mema’s to watch more cars and eat hot dogs. I spent some time making a bracelet while Mommy wrangled a very sleepy, but not giving in Parker. Mommy decided to throw in the towel soon after grub and we headed home to Lebanon. Thanks, Mema and Pepa for letting us come visit!
Family Reunion-Today was the Lawson Family Reunion at Columbian Park. No offense, family reunion shamily reunion, I heard Park in that phrase, that means there’s a playground involved, and I’m ready to go! Bonus…Gigi and Poppa were there! Extra bonus…Darcey was there, too! We played on the playground, got soaked in a downpour, played pretend under the picnic tables, fed the ducks, dug in the mulch, and laughed a lot together! Another Extra Bonus…Riley and Taylor dropped by the shindig, too! Score! It’s always so great to see my cousins! They’re so cute ya’ know! Sorry we didn’t stay very long, but it was a good thing we headed to Lebanon when we did. Parker had a full-scale total meltdown. One like we’ve never seen before. He cried (at times screamed his little hairless head off) for 3 HOURS STRAIGHT!!! Mommy and Daddy did all the Mommy and Daddy things, but he was just so mad. We all hope is was just over-tiredness, but again, we haven’t seen anything like it since he was just a new babe. Feel better, Parks!
Much love to all and I hope everyone had a great weekend!
So the holiday weekend started off really great! It was the usual Gigi Friday…with a twist. It was Parker’s 9, well 9 and 3/4 month check-up, so we had to adjust our regular schedule of Dollar Tree, Big Lots, and Ice Cream Paradise around a visit to Dr. Harbor’s office. It worked out okay, and I’ll let Parks tell you all about it on his website, but just know that I don’t like getting MY blood drawn, and I’ve found that I don’t like watching someone else get theirs taken either. On the upside, I got a sticker out of the deal!
After Parks’ appointment, we headed to Dollar Tree to do the usual shopping. I told Gigi that I wanted to save my money, so she could go ahead and buy me whatever she wanted. I’m quite the entrepreneur ya’ know!
Poppa came down to our house later that day to play and have dinner with us. It was really fun spending time with my Gigi and Poppa. Thanks guys for another great Friday! I also need to mention that I’m an official Vera Bradley toting pre-schooler. My pattern is Citrius…just like Gigi’s! Thanks for the Vera, Gigi!
Friday was a Daddy Night because Mommy had her 5th Grade Promotion Party. So, Daddy picked us up and we headed straight for our favorite spot…Ice Cream Paradise! Parker was a swinging fool and I ran the show on the big playground. He topped off my night with McDonalds and we headed for home for the usual routine.
On Saturday, we made a special trip to Indy with Riley, Taylor, Aunt Carrie, and Uncle Manata! We hit the big, huge, gigantic warehouse book sale and came home with some great new bedtime stories. Then, we all refueled at Chick-fil-a and made good use of the playground until I came down funny on my ankle and sent Daddy through the roof when I was walking on it like it was dislocated! Maybe he is still a little gun shy from the whole purple owie episode? Anyway, after a few minutes, we were calmed down, but already packed up to hit Costco. It was about nap time, so Daddy stayed with Parker in the car and listened to Podcasts and Uncle Manata stayed with Riley and Taylor and read his new books while Aunt Carrie, Mommy, and I did some wholesale shopping. After that, we got some tasty treats at Ice Cream Paradise (my second time in as many days!) and played a little more. Next up…yup, more playing! We went back to our house and broke in the play set, sand and water table, and playhouse! After bath and eats, it was time to call it quits for the big day and my favorite cousins from Lafayette headed home.
Today was a Daddy-and-Morgan-Errand-Day! The highlights included Aldi, Kroger, installing Parker’s big boy car seat, and a screening of Shrek the Third at the movie theater! Daddy is my favorite big green ogre!
Friday was an exciting day. Parker and I got a new sand table to put on our deck (several toys and sand included), and balls for Parker’s ball pit. A big Thank you to Gigi! Second, a big congratulations to Uncle T.C. for graduating from Purdue on Friday night. It must have been a super party because Mommy didn’t get home until after I went to bed, and everyone knows that I’m a big girl so I get to stay up later than Parker. Way to go, T.C.!
On Saturday after running a few errands, we headed to Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata’s house to celebrate Uncle Manata’s birthday and Mother’s Day with a cookout. I got to play with Riley and Taylor all afternoon! We played lions, giblets, rolled down a hill, made cookies in their outdoor playhouse, and many more exciting activities that required two applications of sunscreen #50. I always have so much fun with my cousins! Thanks everyone for such a fun day!
Today, Parker and I got a present for Mother’s Day! That’s right, WE got the present! Mema, Pepa, TC, and Renee all came down to deliver the outdoor play set that used to be in their back yard into our backyard! We now have a tire swing that Mommy used to play on when she was little, a bucket seat for Parker, a slide, a rope swing quickly fashioned by Pepa and Daddy, and my playhouse that Mema and Pepa gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago! It’s like a regular park in our own backyard! We have sand, water, and a swing set! Now, how about that pool, Mommy? Thanks Mema and Pepa for letting us have the swing set! It’s going to get lots of use! Also, thank you all for bringing it down and assembling!
