Day 6 – Disney MGM Studios
Today was the first day of vacation that we actually had to set an alarm clock to wake up. We had to make sure we were at the Disney MGM Park bright and early (8:30) to eat breakfast with some of the super cool characters from Playhouse Disney! Needless to say, it was well worth the 6:00 wake-up call. We were at the park before it even opened (this also meant that Mommy and Daddy didn’t have to pay the $10.00 parking fee for arriving so early-that put everyone in a good mood right away)! We shuttled right to the gate and had to wait for the park to even open. When it finally did, watch out!! All the other daddies, including mine, were literally RUNNING all over the park to get Fast Passes for all the rides. It was kind of funny to watch!
We were soon called into Playhouse Disney’s Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine to chow down on a great breakfast buffet which included Mickey Mouse shaped waffles. Then it happened…June and Leo from Little Einsteins came out and walked all around the place visiting with everyone, signing autographs, and getting pictures! June was the first to visit our table. I was a little scared, but you can tell from the pictures that I warmed up in a hurry. Leo came next, then my favorite, Goliath from JoJo’s Circus. He gave me a hug! JoJo rounded out the visits from the characters. I have to say that I think she was a little sweet on Parker. She played Peek-A-Boo with him!
Next we headed over to the Star Wars ride. Bet you can’t guess who wanted to do that ride?!? Yep. Parker. I mean Daddy! Mommy, Parker, and I waited while Daddy relived his childhood for a moment!
Fast forward to The Little Mermaid Adventure Story told by Ariel herself! We got in right away because Daddy got Fast Passes for this one as soon as we entered the park. It was awesome! I loved it, and Parker fell asleep. So everyone had a good time!
The fun continued as we headed over to Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! We got to sit on the floor and take in a show featuring Bear in the Big Blue House, JoJo and her pals, Stanley, and Winnie the Pooh! This was pretty cool, too. It was so neat to see all those guys live and in person!
Next on the list was a stroll through Streets of America to our next destination…Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground! Everything was so big! It was an outdoor scene built to make us feel like the size of ants! There were ant tunnels to crawl through, spider webs to climb on, roots to slide down…all under the cover of the super tall blades of grass! There was even a slide made from a Kodak film roll! That was the best slide! I was sad to move on to the next stop, but Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure we got to take in everything possible.
After a quick snack, water bottle refill, and diaper change for Parker, we decided to ride theDisney MGM Studios Backlot Tour. It was a tram ride that showed all kinds of special effects, props from movies, where the costumes are made, and movie sets. We actually got to be part of the earthquake/flood action scene! At first I was a little scared, but when it was over I told Mommy it was cool.
A few pictures at Al’s Toy Barn and Buzz Lightyear’s Box, and I was getting hungry again. I ate another hotdog with Daddy while Mommy went shopping. Luckily, we sat down in just the right place to see the MGM Parade! I got to see Mulan, Ariel, Goofy, Mickey & Minnie, Alice, Buzz, Woody, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, Snow White, Jasmine, Aladin, Bear, Chip n’ Dale, Lilo and Stitch, and probably some more that I can’t remember! When Mommy returned with some ears for Parker and I, she and Daddy decided to call it vacation. It was time to start heading back to Indiana. It was a little sad for everyone as we walked out to get on our last shuttle ride to the parking lot. We all had so much fun. Thanks to Gigi, Poppa, Mema, and Pepa for checking in on Madison while we were gone! Also thanks to T.C. for his GPS…couldn’t have gotten around without it. Thanks most to Disney World…see ya’ real soon!

You all rock. You are the Disney guro’s. You are motivating me to get into action and start planning. I need materials. White board, markers, maps w/erasable markers to plan routes to fast passes and the like. We need you. How can we do this w/o you? Now I’m overwhelmed. I gotta go to bed. Much love, Kara
