Happy 4th Birthday

Morgan,

No more pull-ups. Now you have Tinkerbell underwear. No more board books. Now you like The Magic School Bus, My Little Pony, and library books. No more pigtails. Now you wear necklaces and want your ears pierced.

Every year on your birthday, it seems like your Mommy and I get caught up in your old pictures while we laugh and tell stories about you. We love to look back on all of those great memories and wonder things like “How did she turn out so well when we didn’t have a clue what we were doing?” and “I wonder if she’ll forgive us for putting her in that outfit!” But, this year, I can’t help but to see how your eyes are set towards the future. You’re so intelligent and I’m astonished every day by how fast your learn. You love going to school and are sponge for new songs, stories, words, and books. You hang with the big kids at school, keep me informed of what is cool and not cool in the Princess World, and are always so eager to graduate to the next big thing, whatever that might be.

And I love it.

I fills my heart to see you become the person you’ll be, because I know that person will continue to be amazing, beautiful, fun, and inspiring. You’re going to do great big things in the world, Morgan Lee, and I’m privileged to have to opportunity to help guide you along the way and be a part of it. I will always look back and love the memories, support you in today’s passionate project, and eagerly anticipate the wondrous accomplishments in store for you.
