Leg checkup

It was just over 2 years ago when I broke my leg playing at the playground…a memory that still makes Daddy cringe to think about. I had a checkup today with one of the Lawson Family Friend doctors, Dr. Loder, to make sure I healed OK and was growing strong. We started out with some X-rays of my leg that lets you see right through to my bones, and then with a quick check-up with the doc. As expected, I passed with flying colors and he says that everything is healed and growing well.

After the appointment, Mommy, Daddy and I hit Target to do a little pre-Halloween shopping. Because of their recent case of the sickies, they “pooped out” pretty quickly and we headed home before lunch. Mommy and I tried to take a nap together, but that was about the time my Gummi Life Savers kicked in and I couldn’t stay still, so I chilled downstairs and watched Magic School Bus (my new favorite show!) with Daddy. Later that afternoon, Daddy and I caught the movie Open Season before we met up with Gigi for my big reward…spending the night at Gigi and Poppa’s house! I slept in my bed all week, exactly as instructed, and earned the right to hang out in the funnest place on Earth next to Disneyland!

Mommy and I did a bunch girl things today (tootle around, shop, look at pretty stuff) while Parker and Daddy stayed home and did boy things (pay with trucks, dig in dirt, burp, etc.). I was such a good girl that we stopped at another pumpkin patch on the way home to fill our houses with gourds and pumpkins! We got a carving kit and got to work on those big orange canvases. I wanted a kitty and Daddy helped me carve that out. Mommy worked on a very intricate “Trick or Treat” sign, and Daddy free-handed a Muppet smile for Parker’s little pumpkin. Most of the pictures are my work, which explains the point of view in some of them. :)

Quote of the Day: “Adorable! Love it!” This was said just after Morgan snapped a picture of Momma holding the pumpkin. Where does she get this stuff?!?

Instead of being bored and stir-crazy today, the family packed up and headed to Stony Creek Farm to visit the 34th Annual Pumpkin Festival! At first, I was a little apprehensive and just took in the whole scene. Soon, I quickly warmed up to the big inflatable rides, hay stacks, pumpkin-shooting slingshots, kettle corn, games, and the rest of the festival. Parker slept for most of the time, but I talked him in to poking his head out for a few photos and fun. After an exhausting afternoon, we hit Buca on the way home and filled our bellies with garlicy-goodness.

We just wanted to wish Aunt Carrie Good Luck today at her new job in Logansport! We hope all goes well! Also, good luck to Riley and Taylor at their new day care! It might be a little scary at first, but it’s lots of fun to hang out with all the other kids and play with someone else’s toys!!
