CAT Day at the Zoo
Because Pepa is such a loyal employee of CAT, I got to spend the day with Daddy, Mommy, and Mema at the Indy Zoo for free! I don’t really know how that connection works, but I sure did take advantage of the deal!
We started off in the Butterfly Conservatory…HATED IT!! I was squealing every time one of them came near me…which was often! Needless to say, we didn’t spend much time in there. Mommy and Mema loved it though and said they would like to return when I wasn’t afraid of bugs anymore. We also took, what seemed like forever to me, a stroll through the White River Gardens. Very pretty, but I was under the impression we were going to see some animals, and I frequently brought this point up with everyone. After awhile, they got the point and we hit the zoo full force!
We started with walrus exhibit, visited the new underwater dolphin exhibit, and then headed to lemurs, flamingos, and ducks. I also got a really cool tattoo of a glittery dolphin on my arm! Daddy’s such a sucker when it comes to stuff like that! I didn’t even have to bat my eyes! Before eating “dinner” at the Dessert Pavilion, Daddy took me through the Dessert exhibit. Mema isn’t fond of snakes, so she and Mommy sat outside and waited for us to finish. I say to Mema, “Suck it up. I got paraded through the butterfly conservatory against my will! The snakes are behind glass!”
We quickly ate with about a million other CAT people, and then it was time for my favorite part…THE DOLPHIN SHOW!!! It was so exciting! There was music to clap and dance to and best of all, dolphins doing tricks! I just wish it would have lasted longer!
After the dolphin show, we speed raced through the ocean exhibit to get to the penguins. We also got to see a polar bear being trained to “sit.” I don’t know about…telling a huge polar bear to sit. I think he’s allowed to do exactly what he wants. No arguments from me!
Then, we crisscrossed the zoo one more time to hit the plains exhibit. We saw some zebras, rhinos, giraffes, baboons, elephants, and kangaroos at warp speed all to get to the LIONS!! We watched a lion on a rock for a few minutes and then I was done. Ready to go home. Let’s go. I’m done! Of course, we didn’t hop on the shuttle bus to leave the zoo without buying a dolphin mask and zebra mask first.
If you judge the success of the day by how loud my voice was and how much I talked, I’d say it was just about million decibels of excitement! I think I gave Mema flashbacks of TC when he was my age…never a quiet moment! Thanks Pepa for letting us go on such a great trip! Thanks to Mema for leaving Lafayette, heading to the big city, and surviving the interstate with me! Also, big thanks to Daddy for spending the whole day with me! Be on the lookout for some pictures of my big day!
