As a follow up to my earlier announcement about being a big sister, we’ve now learned that the new baby in Mommy’s belly is a boy! At first, I was a little disappointed because I had lost my long-standing bet with Daddy, but now I’m excited to show my baby brother all the ropes.
Here is a fuzzy ultrasound snapshot of his face. I’m not sure which end is up, but I’m sure he is cute:

Thank you to Gigi for another great Friday together! I just want to know, did the washer/dryer guy not get the idea that I was in a hurry to get to Bob Evans?!? One word-PANCAKES!
Saturday was another really fun day. Mema came down and we drove to Indy to Race for the Cure. I know you’re all thinking,”What? Did you have to drug her?” Actually, Mema did quite well in the car and only had a couple of back-seat-driving-gasps. Way to go, Mema! Once we got there, we headed over to the natatorium to snag our bib numbers and t-shirts. Now technically, I was not supposed to have a t-shirt, but Daddy made it happen for me! So, I too, have a commemorative Race for the Cure t-shirt! Now if you couldn’t believe that Mema made a car trip to Indy, you’ll never believe this. In a crowd of 50,000 people, we found Aunt Carrie, Uncle Manata, Riley, & Taylor waiting to race, too! Cell phone communication is an awesome thing! Riley and Talor were decked out in their very own t-shirts and looked super cute. I’m sure Aunt Carrie & Uncle Manata will have some new pics up on their website to check out soon. We did our one mile walk…well…some of us did. Riley and Taylor “strolled,” and I got a bird’s eye view from Daddy’s shoulders for part of the way. At the end, Daddy and I hit the snack tent and gathered treats for everyone. If there are snacks to be had, Daddy and I will be there!
We all worked up quite an appetite, so we headed to Champps for lunch followed by some shopping at the Fashion Mall. Everyone was pretty pooped by the time we got home so it naps for all. Thanks to everyone for such a great day!
On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy spent the morning cleaning the house while I put puzzles together and watched Elmo. Don’t worry, the day improved immensely when I found out that Adam and his Mommy and Daddy were going to come to Lebanon to see Ice Age 2 with me! It was great! We were the only ones in the theater, so it was like our very own private screening! Since I’d seen Ice Age 2 once before, I was able to tell Mommy and Jennifer all about the parts before they even happened! I think they liked being well informed throughout the duration of the flick.
After the movie, we headed back to our house for some playtime. Adam and I played in my playroom while Mommy and Jennifer talked about grown-up stuff. Daddy and Rob played pool in the basement. Daddy’s dream has come true! His apartment in the basement is officially up, running, and open for business! Adam and I spent some time in the back yard playing with bubbles and chasing each other! By 8:30, we were both pretty worn out. Adam feel asleep in the car, and I had made no protests going to bed. Thanks, Adam, for coming and playing with me! You’re awesome and so are your mommy and daddy!
After a crazy-good time with Gigi and Poppa on Friday night, including the first of many visits from the Easter Bunny, Daddy and Mommy came to pick me up on Saturday morning so we could go buy a washer and dryer. We’ve been putting it off for long enough, and I’m going to need my windies washed soon! So, we hit Lowe’s and pulled the trigger on some super-fancy machines. Then, we hit the mall to buy Daddy some undershirts to get through until our new purchases arrive.
Next, we dropped by Mema and Pepa’s house for some more Easter goodness. That TC is crazy…he and I played together all afternoon. We had an Easter Egg Hunt, found candy, and played hide-and-seek, and threw plastic eggs at each other until we crashed. Speaking of crashing, there was so much going on that as soon as we got in the car, I was out for the ride home. With a little nap, though, I was ready to help Mommy dye some eggs before hitting the sack.
When I got up, I had a big basket of cool stuff outside my door…delivered especially for me from the Easter Bunny. We took it downstairs and I gathered up all the eggs hidden around the house by that wraskly wabbit. Mommy read the letters I got from the big furry hopper while I unpacked the basket and checked out the loot. I got a crazy ball, some princess walkie-talkies, a fishing pole with magnetic fish, and a whole bunch of other great stuff. Here are some pics from this morning’s events:
Sorry this update is coming a little late, but we just got our internet connection up and running since the move. Here’s the move-in time line:
Friday-I went to school as normal, and Daddy started moving boxes over to the new house a cart-load at a time. To my surprise, Gigi, Poppa, and Daddy came to my school at noon and picked me up for some lunch and then quality Gigi-time while Poppa helped Daddy move more stuff to our new house. By the time Mommy got home from work, Daddy and Poppa had a lot of stuff moved over. In fact, all that was left in my room was my bed!
Saturday-I decided to wake Mommy and Daddy up at 6:30 so they could get an early start on all that moving business. I think they really appreciated that! Poppa and Gigi showed up around 9:00 AM and Pepa, Mema, and T.C. came shortly after. By 11:30, Gigi decided it was time to head to Lafayette for a surprise adventure trip! We spent the afternoon with family at a bowling wedding reception! I LOVE bowling! I had so much fun. After the party, we headed back to our new house to find that everything had been moved in! It was time to spend our first night in our new house. I had a little trouble falling asleep, but after, I slept like a log until 7:30 the next morning.
Sunday-Up and at ‘em early. Today our morning agenda consisted of cleaning the old house for the new owners. I watch my DVD while Mommy and Daddy scrubbed and cleaned. After awhile, Mommy and Daddy put me to work cleaning windows! It was great fun! We had some visitors drop by that I was very happy to see…it was Dana, Gigi, Riley, and Taylor! They ate some lunch and checked out our new digs. Not too much later, Jennifer Coyle stopped by, too! I love visitors!
Mommy and I worked in my room that afternoon putting things away and getting organized. Daddy worked out in his little room organizing wires and stuff. Night #2 in my new house went smoothly, and I was able to sleep all though the night again!
Monday-Today was a regular day for me. I got up, snuggled with Mommy and Daddy for a little bit, got dressed, ate breakfast, and headed to school. Mommy and Daddy went to Carmel to get some new things for the house. The most exciting purchase was a step stool for me in my bathroom! It’s so cool. I get up there, brush my teeth, and wash my hands all by myself! A+! Because Daddy was getting a door lock re-keyed, Mommy left Daddy in Carmel to come back to Lebanon to get me. We then headed back to Carmel to pick up Daddy and do some more shopping. When we got home, I headed right up to my bathroom to brush my teeth on my new step stool and then off to bed. Here’s where Mommy and Daddy find out that our new house also has an indoor pool in the basement!
(The following will be told by my Mommy)
So after putting Stinky to bed, Bubb went to the basement to hook up our phones. Shortly after heading down, I hear a beckoning from the basement. I walked down the stairs thinking the cat had left a present for us. No. The sump pump had left us an even bigger present. It stopped working and had flooded the entire perimeter of the basement. Needless to say, I lost it and started crying while moving everything to the center of the basement where it was dry. In the midst of tears, I called Pepa, and Bub went to Walmart to get a Shop-Vac. Around 10:30 PM, after much begging of them not to come, the Bucket Brigade showed up consisting of Mema, Pepa, T.C. and Renee with Shop Vacs, fans, extension cords, blocks of wood, and rubber boots. We all vacuumed and mopped until midnight when Pepa decided to head back to Lafayette. Bubb and I continued to de-flood for another hour. Needless to say, a pretty rocky night for the Mommy and the Daddy.
(Now we resume our regularly scheduled programming)
Tuesday-Woke up around 7:30 and snuggled again with Mommy and Daddy! I was so excited to brush my teeth on my new stool that I left tread marks on the bedroom floor running so fast to get there! I went to school while Mommy and Daddy worked on their “secret project” in the basement that I’m apparently not allowed to see because they won’t let me go down there. If you ask me, they’re doing some sort of wind tunnel experiments down there because the fans are a runnin’!!
After picking me up from school, we headed to Walmart to buy a “dehumidifier,” whatever that is, and then off to Pizza Hut! After feeding the fish I tore up the stairway to stand on my stool and brush my teeth. Who knew this whole hygiene thing would be so much fun?!?!
So that’s where the story ends…for now. A big thank you to Mema, Pepa, and T.C. for helping to move, donuts, and a midnight bucket brigade (shout outs to Renee for coming down to help, too). Also a big thanks to Poppa and Gigi for helping to move us, making lunch on Saturday, and keeping me thoroughly entertained in all this chaos. Thanks to Grandma French sending lunch on Saturday! We also appreciated the visits from Jennifer, Rob, and Adam on Friday, Rhonda on Saturday, Dana and Jennifer Coyle on Sunday! Come and visit anytime. It’s easy to find us…we’re now the first two story on the left of Lakeshore Court instead of the first on the right!
