Ellie’s mommy was nice enough to share some pictures they took of our night out together. Check us out!
Welcome back to Indiana, Gigi and Poppa. I’m glad that you had fun in Las Vegas!
So Mommy decided it was time to get a “big girl” haircut. On Friday, which was Miss Diane’s last day as my teacher, Mommy packed me up and we headed to see Alex. I asked Mommy before getting into the car, “Is Alex a boy or a girl?” Mommy assured me that Alex was a girl. All was right with the world.
I took a small nap during some traffic congestion on 465 and before I knew it, we were at DL Lowry. As we walked in, I took surveillance of the surroundings. No indoor playground like Cookie Cutters, no movies to watch like Cookie Cutters, no horsies to sit on while getting a haircut like Cookie Cutters, and no other kids running around screaming like Cookie Cutters. How good could this place really be?!?! Well, I soon found out that this place was pretty cool! I got to sit next to Mommy while she got her hair washed in a big tub. And get this, they DID have a movie screen…but all it showed was “relaxing images of kaleidoscope flowers.” Not exactly the Strawberry Shortcake movie I had in mind, but it was okay.
When it was time for Mommy to get her haircut, I sat next to her in a big “trendy” chair while Alex did her magic on Mommy. I think Mommy was nervous about how well I would behave, so she handed me her phone and said, “Here, talk to Daddy.” Awesome! I grabbed the phone, flipped my crossed legs over the side of the chair, and carried on a muffled but lengthy conversation with my daddy. SIDENOTE: Alex got a real kick out of listening and watching Morgan be super girly. I, on the other hand, just had flash forwards of what we were going to be in for during her teen aged years!!
Soon, Daddy showed up to hang out with us. He walked back with me while I got my hair shampooed in the big bowl. I asked when the “real” movie was going to start, but he said that the kaleidoscope flowers was all movie player had in it today.
I was very good while getting my haircut (no worries-nothing drastic, a couple of inches, but TONS better in the haircut department)all the while I was looking around at all the pretty bottles and told Daddy which ones Mommy has at home. (Thanks for blowing my cover, MorganLee!!). Daddy asked Mommy if it would be a good idea to own some stock in this place since we already have so much invested in it. I don’t know what that means.
Before we left, Alex helped my try on some lip gloss and got Daddy to model some really pretty bracelets, too. After tootling around Target for a few minutes, we headed home and put Daddy and me right to bed. Mommy said we were going to have a big day of furniture purchasing and packing to do in my room the next day!
Daddy came to pick me up today because Mommy had to stay late at school for meetings. We thought it would be fun to check out the new library since Daddy hadn’t been there yet, so I gave him the grand tour! We played with blocks, shopping carts, tools, puzzles, and picked out some books for bedtime. My favorite part was lining up all of the animals for a parade!
On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, and I ran some errands before meeting up with my long lost best friend, Ellie! As soon as we saw each other, it was just like old times. We immediately started holding hands, swinging around, running, laughing, singing, and having fun. We hit a few stores before ending up at our usual spot, Chick-fil-a. After bringing down the house over there, we ran over to the mall to spread our wings at a bigger playground. We worked up a big appetite and knocked back some pretzels and smoothie before calling it a night. It is always so nice to see her and her family (she is a big sister, just like I’m going to be!)…we always have so much fun. Thanks for playing!
I was exhausted on the way home, but up and ready to go on Sunday morning. Good thing, because I had a special visit from Ganny & Poppa! We kicked things off right from the start by making some dinosaur cookies with my special decorating techniques. Then, Mommy and Daddy left to go look for my new bedroom furniture while I took Gigi and Poppa to the movie theater to see The Shaggy Dog and then to The Dollar Tree for some fancy-schmancy shopping. I let Poppa watch Jack’s Big Music Show, which I think he liked better than golf. Thanks for playing with me, and good luck in Vegas!
First, Happy Birthday to Mommy…yesterday. We didn’t get around to cake and ice cream, but she got some presents and big hugs! Happy birthday!

The biggest birthday present for Mommy was her new house! Yup, the drama, phone calls, emails, faxes, and worrying are over. Mommy and Daddy signed on the dotted line and were able to get the house. For those that don’t know, we had an accepted offer on a house with a contingency that we sold our house. We were able to find a buyer for our house, and everything was working out great. On 2/28, we were supposed to sell our house at 9:00 am and then buy the other house at 11:00. But, we found out only hours before the closing that the people weren’t going to be able to sell us their house. They had a 3rd mortgage and didn’t have the cash to come to closing and pay off all the creditors to clear all the liens on the house…so the title company was not able to transfer ownership without a clear title. So, we had to go ahead and sell our house and hope, wish, and pray that the other people were able to come up with the cash to clear their liens so we could buy the house. If they didn’t, we would have to start looking elsewhere, which wasn’t a good prospect.
To make a long story short(er), they made the magic happen and we closed yesterday. We trade houses at the end of the month. Come down and see us at our new place! It shouldn’t be hard to find…it is right across the street. That’s right, we’re gunning for the Guinness Book of World’s Records title for shortest move. Our old address is 2411 Lakeshore Ct., our new address is 2416 Lakeshore Ct. Update your address books!
