Sick ward

Yesterday, I joined Mommy on the stay-at-home program. We were both up coughing and hacking Tuesday night. In fact, I ended up sleeping in Mommy and Daddy’s bed, so we gave Daddy a stereo coughing experience which he really enjoyed. We both hit the doctor on Wednesday and checked out OK…just the usual Rx of rest and fluids. I’m better now and back at school. Mommy is still feeling puny, but she managed to make it to school because she has a big day of 20 parent-teacher conferences today. Stick with it Mommy, and we’ll have Gatorade and crackers waiting for you at home.

Weekend fun

On Saturday, we hooked up with Uncle Manata, Aunt Carrie, and Taylor and Riley at Chili’s for a big lunch. The girls were very good at lunch. They mostly slept through the meal, but Taylor ended up dancing on the table before we were through! Then, a few errands before hitting the mall in our continuing search for a new bedspread set for my new room. I have one picked out at Pottery Barn Kids, but they’re sold out, so we’re trying to find a replacement. No luck so far, but not for a lack of trying.

After the mall, we went back to hang out at Manata and Carrie’s house for a while before hitting Chick fil-a and Krispy Kreme on the way out of town.

This morning, we got to dig in to those donuts while we watched Little Einsteins. Mommy and I packed up for some more shopping while Daddy worked on his work things. Mommy and I hit all of the furniture and bedding stores we could find, then I got my haircut at Cookie Cutters (nothing drastic, just a trim and a little bit of layers).

I had fun hanging out with the girls this weekend and had fun. And, it was good to play with Daddy this afternoon while Mommy took a nap. Now, back to the weekly grind!

Thanks to everyone for the great gifts, cards, and wishes for Valentine’s day. We surprised Daddy with cookies tonight, his favorite! He surprised us with a My Little Pony book, a box of chocolate for Mommy (cliche, but she is a sucker for assorted chocolate), and a binky for the new baby.

Speaking of the new baby, we got to see it on a fuzzy, black and white TV yesterday. I couldn’t really tell what was going on…I didn’t see a baby and lost interest quickly. But, Mommy and Daddy seemed pretty excited to watch the fuzzy blobs and blips.

Big thanks to Adam for going to the Curious George movie with me. It was his first ever trip to the movie theater, and he did great! He loved the popcorn and soaked in all of the atmosphere…big screen, lots of people, sticky floors, etc.

Also, we had Valentine’s Day a little early. I got new pony as a present and shared some chocolate with Daddy. I think he has been missing me and is trying to buy my love…works for me!

Alright avid journal readers, here’s the catch-up edition of what’s been goin’ down at my house, at least I think it’s still my house for the moment. My bed is still here so it must be my house.

Mommy and Daddy have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more until finally someone decided to buy our house! Apparently they have some kids, too because when we returned to our house after a showing, all my toys were out and all over the place. It looks like whoever was here had a great time! So that happened last weekend during the Super Bowl. Get your bags packed, Steve. We’re takin’ over!

Daddy’s been working VERY late during the past month. Not only has he been working hard on work, but he also has done all the mortgage (big people word) stuff. Mommy has been very grateful for that! Sometimes I see him long enough to get a night-night hug and kiss before I’m off to dreamland. I’m not saying this to make The Daddy feel bad, I’m just setting the stage to back up my claim that this place really is nuts!

Mommy is still very tired from the baby in her belly. Sometimes she falls asleep on the couch while we’re supposed to be watching Charlie and Lola together. I don’t understand how anyone could fall asleep during any riveting episode of Charlie and Lola. And I quote, “It’s my favorite and my best!”

Also on the baby-front, Mommy has to get an ultrasound on Monday to check the size of the new babe. The doctor says it’s big for its age. Well, duh. What do you expect when I set the precedence at 9 lbs. 12 oz.? They might get to confirm the baby is girl like I keep telling them, but it’s also very early on to tell bits from pieces.

So between getting taxes filed, house inspections, Daddy’s new crappy job, mortgages, baby in the belly, insurance, and much more that I’m sure I’m not aware of, it’s been a rollercoaster ride.
