Fun weekend

Yesterday, we celebrated Pada’s 80th birthday with the whole famn damily! We filled the whole back room at the restaurant and had a great party, including lots of chocolate cake. Happy Birthday, Pada!

Today, we woke up and all got dressed in our comfy running outfits and hit the road for some intense Christmas shopping. When we got to the outlet mall in Edinburgh, I thought it looked a lot different than Papa and Gigi’s pictures from their trip to Scotland, but it had a KB Toys outlet, so it was still OK by me! I was Daddy’s best friend all day while Mommy was hitting the stores. I rode around on his shoulders a lot, we got drinks, rode on the horses, and got prizes from all the ladies in the stores who thought I was the cutest elf at the mall. After a long ride down to the outlet mall, a long day of shopping, and a long ride back, I was still being an A+ girl so we hit some more stores in Indy. Still in good spirits, we decided to have dinner at BW3s, where there were more big TVs than Best Buy. Again, I charmed the heck out of everyone and our waitress brought me extra toys and even went out to her car to bring me a prize (little green Yoda) from her Happy Meal.

So, still smiling and singing, I finally crashed on the way home when all of the running around caught up with me and went straight to bed when we pulled in.

Editor’s note: Morgan was on her absolute best behavior all day today. It was such a joy to be with her, talk to her, and play with her! These are the days that make Mommy and Daddy smile as we fall asleep at night.

Snow!

While Mommy and I were waiting for Daddy to drive his sleigh back home tonight (a little over two hours, for those keeping score at home), Mommy thought it would be fun for her and I to experience the abundance of white precipitation. She shoveled the drive while I ran around like crazy. I made snowballs, tasted samples from across the yard and driveway, and made my very first snow angel! Check me out:

In the pictures, you’ll notice another of our more recent projects…the Century 21 sign in the front yard. Yup, we came to terms with Steve for his house, and now we need to sell ours. As a selling point, I’m planning on showing the new owners the best secret spots for Hide and Seek.

It’s been pretty difficult to get Mommy and Daddy to help me write my entries for all of my adoring fans to read. I mean, really Mommy and Daddy, my groupies need to know what’s going on in my busy 3 year old life. I will cut them a little slack; they’ve been really busy with this whole “new house” thing. I don’t get it…why would we want to live in “Steve’s House” anyway? Can’t they see that we’re already busting at the seams with just the three of us!?! I mean, where would Steve sleep? And who is this guy anyway? And why does he have such tacky Christmas decorations? SIDENOTE: I personally love all the festivities, but Mommy says that there should be a law about that much plastic in one front yard!

Anywho, it’s been another busy week on Lakeshore Court. I went to school and got myself into trouble on Tuesday. Apparently the upper management doesn’t like it when a little girl uses 30 pieces of paper towel to dry her hands off instead of the alloted one. Who makes these rules anyway? Don’t they know that kids love to see the automatic paper towel dispenser shoot out a new piece every two seconds? It’s kinda’ like the coupon dispensers at the grocery. You take one out and another one spits out soon after. Anyway, it probably wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t done it again that afternoon. The Mommy was not happy about this at all. In fact, I got a “stern talking to” on the way home, at home, during dinner, through bath time, and right up until my head hit the pillow. Jease Mom, I think I got it! I guess that I forgot to mention that I also told my teacher, Miss Diana, that (and I quote) “I don’t have to. You’re not my boss!” and I dipped toilet paper into the toilet and then gave the whole thing a good wipe down. I can’t wait to pass down the tricks of the trade to Riley and Taylor! Just testing my boundaries, Mommy!

We went to Indy on Wednesday night to go to the book store and have dinner with Daddy. Mommy and I went to Starbucks to have a little snack. She got some sort of hot fancy drink while I shoveled in a giant snowman sugar cookie. It was really fun. We sat at a little table together, talked about our day, and read a book together.

On Friday, I woke up and was whisked away to meet Gigi at Thorntown. I got to go to her house to spend the night while Mommy and Daddy did some shopping. Something tells me that there wasn’t a bunch of shopping done, though. I bet they called it a night and went to bed early. See you Saturday, Mommy and Daddy!
