Happy 3rd Birthday

Morgan,

Papa can tell you a story about Daddy and how, on your 2nd day of life, I was so anxious for you to grow up so I could learn all about you. I couldn’t wait to see your personality, learn what you like and don’t like, what your favorite color was, and so on.

Looking back, I didn’t know what I was wishing for. I made and washed 1000 bottles, but now you get your own chips out of the pantry. I changed 1000 diapers, but now you yell down from the potty to say that you’re all done.

Looking forward, I see you standing at the bus stop, playing sports, driving a car…and that’s about as far as I can get before I stop, give you a hug, and remind myself of what I learned on your 3rd day of life…to enjoy every minute with you.

To say you’re special would be a discredit. You’re the most beautiful and amazing little girl. Little girl…you aren’t a baby anymore (even though we will always call you baby girl), and you’re growing up so fast. Now, I wish for a laugh, a tickle, a hug, and the sound of your laugh to let me know you’re happy. I still wish to know more about you, but now I know to appreciate it as it comes and cherish every moment.

Happy 3rd birthday, Morgan, and thanks for teaching me what to wish for.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Dear Morgan Lee,Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the past three awe inspiring years. You were a beautiful and funnny baby and have now blossomed into a smart and lovely young lady. To watch you grow and change is a true joy. You are so lucky to have been blessed with an amazing set of parents who get the true meaning of what is most important in life, the three of you. Happy third birthday. xoxoxoxoxo (and one to grow on) xo ganny

What more can we add except to echo all those comments? You have been a bright light in our lives and we have learned a lot–our names, how to play beads, Play Dough, have tea parties, cut paper, decorate pumpkins, when (and when not to) dance and sing and most of all to enjoy watching you grow, learn and love. You were the best girl ever at your party with all those big people and babies and we thank you for letting us share it with you.
