Archive for November 2005

On Thursday morning, I was excited to see everyone, so I was up and at ‘em early in the morning. I had Mommy fix some turkey-flavored waffles before we all took showers and got dressed for the Thanksgiving lunch.

We headed north to meet everyone at Mountain Jack’s…and when I say everyone, I mean everyone! We saw Dana, Mada, Pada, Uncle Manata, Aunt Carrie, Riley Taylor, Gigi, Papa, Jeff, Vanessa, Jeffery, Mariana, and Uncle Ed. We had the whole back room to ourselves, so we had turkey, chatted, and played all over the room.

Then, we headed back to Gigi and Poppa’s house to hang out for a little while and rest up for our 2nd holiday meal. We went to Mema and Pepa’s house to help TC cook a big turkey and to give his TV a workout with my new video games. After Renee and I played paper dolls, everyone ate and I watched Cinderella. I didn’t make it through the whole move before I crashed…it was a big day.

Today, we rounded ourselves up and headed out to brave the holiday shopping scene. First, though, we stopped to see Poppa and get Mommy’s oil changed. It was a good time for some snapshots…check us out!

After that, it didn’t take much convincing for Daddy and I to hang out at the house while Mommy went on to catch up with Aunt Carrie, Jill, and all the other crazies out today.

As per tradition, the next stop was a visit to Santa. Who was there to pull the sleigh? None other than Bud the Horse, my old friend from last year! After an apprehensive-looking picture and a few candy canes, it was back to Gigi and Poppa’s house to hang out with the girls (Riley, Taylor, Gigi, and Dana) until Daddy and Mommy came to get me.

Good thing we still have a few days of recovery time left on this break!

FYI

Just a few quotes that had Mommy and Daddy laughing at storytime tonight:

“Sharing is fun!”

“Your heart is in your belly.”

Morgan,

Papa can tell you a story about Daddy and how, on your 2nd day of life, I was so anxious for you to grow up so I could learn all about you. I couldn’t wait to see your personality, learn what you like and don’t like, what your favorite color was, and so on.

Looking back, I didn’t know what I was wishing for. I made and washed 1000 bottles, but now you get your own chips out of the pantry. I changed 1000 diapers, but now you yell down from the potty to say that you’re all done.

Looking forward, I see you standing at the bus stop, playing sports, driving a car…and that’s about as far as I can get before I stop, give you a hug, and remind myself of what I learned on your 3rd day of life…to enjoy every minute with you.

To say you’re special would be a discredit. You’re the most beautiful and amazing little girl. Little girl…you aren’t a baby anymore (even though we will always call you baby girl), and you’re growing up so fast. Now, I wish for a laugh, a tickle, a hug, and the sound of your laugh to let me know you’re happy. I still wish to know more about you, but now I know to appreciate it as it comes and cherish every moment.

Happy 3rd birthday, Morgan, and thanks for teaching me what to wish for.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Age: 3 years

Weight: 40 pounds
Nicknames: Pickle Head, Bucket Head, Morgan Schmorgan
Likes: Movies (Little Einsteins, Doodlebops, Madagascar, Incredibles, Robots, Chicken Little, and anything else Mommy and Daddy can take me to in the movie theater), Barbies, puppies and all sorts of animals on the farm and at the zoo, Princesses, lip gloss, scissors, tape, construction paper, chips, singing, playing pretend, fancy drinks, stalling at bedtime, playing games on the computer, my new cousins Riley and Taylor.
Dislikes: Hamburgers or trying new foods, waking up, when Kitty bops me on the head.
Notes: Wearing size 4T and 9 shoes. I can spell Morgan, Mom, Dad, Cat, and I know my phone number and birthday. The potty stuff is down, so I get to wear My Little Pony, Dora, and Princess underpants. I’m really, really getting into girly things. Anything to do with dress up, makeup, doing hair, pink, purple, fairies, or glitter is a hit with me! I’m a big help in the kitchen when it is time to make lunch or dinner. I’ve been sleeping in my big girl bed since April. I like riding in the race car grocery carts and I buckle my puppy in the seat next to me. I love to play tag and hide and seek. I also like to pretend I’m a puppy, kitty, dinosaur, rhinoceros, or any barnyard animal. I still really love music…I sing and dance all the time.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! I had such a great afternoon surrounded by all of my friends and family…and truck-loads of presents! I’m such a lucky girl! Let’s just say I’m well stocked in the underpants department until my 10th birthday party!! You can never have too many windies! It was great fun playing with my cousins, Riley & Taylor and getting to have my very good friend Adam over! Who could ask for more?!? Julie Dog even came to wish me a Happy Birthday! I hope everyone had at least half as much fun as I did! Love and hugs to everyone! Make sure to check out all bizillion birthday photos:
