Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to Baby Adam for hanging with me last night. I had fun sharing my crayons (you don’t eat them, you color balloons with them, silly) and I’m glad we got to read his book about trucks, planes, and boats together. You’re getting so big that “Baby” Adam doesn’t seem to fit anymore, but we’ll talk about it more at your birthday party. See ya then!
So, get this. Mommy and Daddy have this idea about what they think a good Halloween costume would be. But, when we went shopping, I immediately latched on to the lion costume. I thought it was great…it made me look like Goliath from Jo Jo’s circus and Kitty thinks it is great fun to be chased around the house while I roar! So, I thought it was perfect and talked Mommy in to getting it for me.
I was so excited that I carried it all through the store, held it all the way home, and had it out the minute we got home to look it over again and again. When Daddy got home, we decided to try it on so I could show off my “Roooooaaaaarrrrr”. The darn thing was too small!!! Oh, it was so sad. I really, really wanted to get it on, but it just didn’t fit. My heart was broken and it tore Mommy and Daddy up to see me so genuinely upset that I couldn’t wear the costume I had been so excited about.
But, you know the story can’t end there. Mommy made good on the costume by bumping it up to the big girl size! Now, I could prance around and scare the catnip out of Kitty all day…if I wanted to put it on, that is. See, the lion costume is sooooo two days ago and I’ve changed my mind. Now I want to be a princess! Keep up Mommy and Daddy!
Another exhausting weekend has come and gone. I can’t wait until I get back to school so that I can rest.
Here comes the breakdown!
Saturday: woke up, hit the grocery store (where I was an excellent girl), unloaded the car, back in the car to Lafayette, 2 hour oil change at Wal-Mart, visit to Riley and Taylor, stop and Ganny and Poppa’s house for Daddy to work on the computer, fell asleep on Mommy, headed home.
Sunday: woke up, waffle in Mommy and Daddy’s bed, car ride to Indy, shopping at Costco, snacks at Costco, drinks at Costco, playing with toys at Costco, running in the “cold room” at Costco, lunch at Buca, home, nap, playtime, another waffle for dinner, bath, bed.
I took a nap and was a good girl at school today because I was promised a visit from one of my best friends…Ellie! Mommy and I came home and hung out for a while, then Ellie showed up with her Mommy, Daddy, and baby brother Eli! Nobody would have expected the fun we would have together.
We immediately latched on to each other and didn’t separate for the next 4 hours. We went straight upstairs and played dress up, played with the Little People houses, the easel, balls, puppies, and just about every other toy in the wagon. Next, we headed for bed…not to sleep, but to jump! We were monkeys jumping on (and falling out of) the bed until we were panting and sweating. Then all of the animals came out of the cradle and were scattered around the floor. Of course, this was done with lots of jumping, tickling, squealing, and laughing. We pretended to eat downstairs as we wrestled and cut shapes out of paper (and left lots and lots and lots of little, teeny, tiny pieces on the floor) before we headed upstairs for the community bath. Again, you can imagine lots of little girl giggles and splashing while the mommies soaped us up and washed us down.
We went through the motions of putting on our jammies, getting in to bed, and letting the Mommies and Daddies head downstairs for a few minutes of quiet. Less than 5 minutes later, there were tiny giggles from the stairs and 2 sets of eyes peeping around the staircase. This quickly escalated to another episode of sprinting around the house, pulling out toys, and laughing infectiously.
At a little after 10, the Mommies were done playing with their scissors and paper and Ellie had to pack up and head for C’ville. I had a great time and I hope that she is able to come back soon!
Like most weekends, we were off and running after a little Jo Jo’s Circus and a quick bath. We hopped in the car and headed to Riley and Taylor’s house to hang out for a bit. I talked about Riley all the way there (and I quote) “She was in another room and now she’s not and now we can see her!” It was the first time Mommy, Daddy, and I got to see and hold both babies. They sure are cute! After some holding, feeding, and bouncing, it was time to head to Mema and Pepa’s house for some “wunch.” Pepa grilled steaks, and we all ate outside. T.C. went on and on about it being so hot, you’d think he’d suffered from heat stroke! Toughen-up, T.C.! I got to play chase with Julie and also visit with Renee. I love Renee! Every time she’s around, I get all up in her face and make myself right at home. Good thing I’m not a dog trying to mark my territory! After wunch, I tried to take a nap, but I was just too revved up, so I decided to head to the mall with Mema, T.C., Renee, Mommy, and Daddy. Mema bought me a new outfit for school, and I got a new chew toy for Julie. Hope she likes it! We walked around for awhile and then we met up with Gigi and Papa! After a purchase of a purple cat at the Disney store and some more playing at the playground, it was time to head for home. Thanks to everyone for such a great weekend! See you all soon!
