Monday morning, I insisted on wearing my new sweater that Gigi and Popa got me from Scotland…on the potty! I really wanted to wear it outside, but Mommy said it was too hot. I protested, but I let her win the argument…this time.

After meeting Daddy and Jennifer for lunch later that day, Mommy and I got down on some crafting together. I painted a giraffe sun catcher for almost two whole hours!! It’s very very pretty! Afterwards, I decorated a foam visor and sunglasses. Watch out Martha Stewart…make room for Morgan “paint by numbers” Lawson!

Another Saturday morning and we were up and at ‘em early. We all hopped in the Mommy Mobile and headed to Lafayette to meet up with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata to spend the weekend in Chicago. After making one pit stop in Merrillville for a potty break, we were at the IKEA store in no time toodling around the three story furniture and home store. I can’t say I was really diggin’ on the curtains, accessories, and fixtures, but I sure did love the ball pit! While I was playing with some kids, Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata were off buying a new couch for their house (it really did fit in their car…perfect fit), and Mommy and Daddy were debating on who got to change my stinky diaper. Mommy lost!!

After spending four hours shopping, we headed to our hotel to check in. I felt like Goldilocks because we had to change our room three times until we got the right one. The first one was too smoky, the second one didn’t have a bed for me, but the third one was just right! After what seemed liked forever, we finally got to go swimming!! I got to show Daddy how I can jump in all by myself and swim around like a big girl.

When everyone was “pruney,” it was time to take a shower and get some grub. We went to place called Big Bowl. I got to eat my mac & cheese with chop sticks! It was great!! Thumbs up!

After a great dinner, it was time to head back to the hotel and go to sleep. Mommy, Daddy, and I snuggled in the same bed and watched Shark Tale together until Mommy’s snoring got so loud that we decided to turn it off and all go sleep.

Sunday morning we did a little more swimming and ate some breakfast before leaving the hotel and heading towards Woodfield Mall. Uncle Manates needed a haircut and I needed some Dippin’ Dots. Yummy!! We did some shopping there and I got some “Super Cute” new clothes that Daddy picked out. They must have been really cute because Mommy and Daddy stripped me down in the middle of the mall to change my outfit before we headed to the airport.

I’m now going to skip the part about Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Manata, and Aunt Carrie driving around aimlessly lost for 40 minutes while I napped…and on to “SURPRISE!!” We met Gigi and Popa at the airport to surprise them. They were returning from Scotland after being gone for a week. We drove them to their car and met back at their house to hear stories, see pictures, and get good girl presents. It sounds like they had a great time! WELCOME BACK!!

Thanks for a fun weekend, everyone!

SIDEBAR: I’ve had lots of fun getting tan lines in Mema’s pool the last few days! I’ll be back soon!

Pool time

I was a very good girl at school today, so I got to spend some time in my pool on the porch. Daddy thinks its funny because I’m a lot bigger than last time and the pool is a lot smaller! Check out these pics from a few years ago!

This morning, Mommy was up, moving, and out the door in the blink of an eye. Daddy and I got dressed and headed to Denny’s for a Daddy/Daughter breakfast. To our surprise, Denny’s seems to have a promotion going on for my new-favorite movie, Madagascar. So, they were handing out puppets and masks to all of the boys and girls. I got Marty the Zebra. I had my smiley face pancakes and looked out the window at the big yellow bulldozer pushing lots of dirt before packing up all of our goodies and heading back for a bath and early nap.

When I woke up, Gigi, Poppa, and Mommy where home and we got in Mommy’s car to go to a party. I like parties, but this one was especially cool because I met a 3 year old girl named Marin. We were fast friends and played all afternoon with jump ropes, croquet mallets, bubbles, crayons, fountains, and yo-yos. I was sad to leave, but we had to head home because Gigi and Poppa were leaving tomorrow for Scotland. I don’t know where that is, but I think it is further than Costco.

I hope you have fun on your trip and bring back lots of pictures and plaid stuff!

On Saturday, my social calendar called. Bright and early Saturday morning, Mommy got me up and dressed and were soon on our way to Jennifer, Rob, and Baby Adam’s house. We (Jennifer, Adam, Mommy, and I) were going to an art fair in Indianapolis. However, Jennifer and Mommy are officially fired from any navigation duties due to the fact that we were half way to Florida, and an hour into our adventure before actually finding the fair. SIDEBAR: While “taking the scenic route,” Adam got hungry and I got to help hold his bottle! Mommy said I did a really good job and that it was good practice for when Riley and Taylor arrive. When we found the fair, there was lots to see and snacks to eat. I got to walk around and sometimes ride in my stroller when my dogs were barkin’.
After the fair, we drove to a fancy place to eat where I decided to entertain Adam with the well-known game of Peek-a-Boo! I had him eating out of the palm of my hand! He was laughing and smiling, and I was jumping and dancing. I didn’t do much eating, but I sure had fun making Adam smile!
After lunch it was on to a visit to Costco for some poop-buckets and such. The coolest part was when Daddy showed up. Daddy and I ran all over the store playing hide-and-seek, laughing, dancing, reading books, and otherwise having a great time.
One last stop at Jennifer and Rob’s to pick up Mommy’s car and say,”Hello” to Rob. I got to play with some of Adam’s toys and run around in their backyard. At 9:30, it was time to call it a day. I didn’t got to bed until 10:00! What a fun day! Thanks Jennifer, Rob, and Adam!

This morning Daddy woke me up and, again, we off and running. We had to go to Lafayette because Aunt Carrie was having a baby shower. Boy, she sure did…it rained all day long!! I didn’t even get to go outside and play in my water table. Oh well, after a nice nap, Daddy, Poppa, and I went to see Madagascar at the movies. Thanks guys!!
