Big Girl Bed

Before I begin telling you all about my big girl bed, I would like to say that Mommy, Daddy, and I had a grrreeeaaattt day together! We hung around the house until about 1:30 (when I finished my nap) and then loaded up and headed to Bucca for a little Italian cusine! It was yummy for my tummy! Mommy and Daddy were super surprised that I loved to dip the bread into a mixture of oil, vinegar, pepper, and parmesian cheese. They just don’t understand my advanced tasting pallet. Someday they’ll catch up!

It was then on to Castleton Mall on a quest to find Big Girl sheets for my new (used) bed.
SIDENOTE: Mommy had a great idea to move the guest bed into my room without the bed frame.

We came up empty handed. But Mommy did run into an old friend, Desmond, that now works at the Verizon store. On to Costco to buy a memory foam for my new bed and stinkies for Daddy. Next, it was up to Westfield to continue the quest at Kohl’s. No luck. Finally, our last store…Target. Mommy and Daddy found all these “Super Cute” sheet sets for me to pick from, but not a one of them was the Incredibles. Oh well. I settled for some pink flowered sheets instead. I think that made the parents pretty happy. All day long Mommy and Daddy told me how much they loved being with me today and that I was such a good girl. What’d they expect? I’m an angel!

Okay, so we got home and made the switch out with lots of, “Bubb, are you sure we should do this?” and “How in the hell does this thing come apart!?!?” Daddy read me a few stories and now I’m still awake laying in my huge bed wondering what the heck has just happened to me? Mommy keeps coming in to check on me, but I’m still wide awake staring back at her at 8:00. This is where Mommy is going to take it from here.

MOMMY: It’s 8:06 now and my Stinky Lee is snuggled in and asleep. I need to repeat again what a wonderful day we had with Morgan. She was awesome and reminded us how much fun this parenting stuff really is. Everyone knows that I try not to be too emotional and mushy about this Mom stuff, but I have to say that a little piece of my heart is sad to see my baby curled up in that big huge bed, no longer about to bust out the end of her crib. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of her stages and wouldn’t want to go back for the world, but I will miss those mornings coming in to room with a little smiling face pressed between the bars of her crib ready to be picked up and to start a new day. With that said, I hope everyone has a great night, and keep your fingers crossed that we make it through our lasted transition with minimal speed bumps. Love ya’ all! -The Mommy
