Big Girl Bed

Before I begin telling you all about my big girl bed, I would like to say that Mommy, Daddy, and I had a grrreeeaaattt day together! We hung around the house until about 1:30 (when I finished my nap) and then loaded up and headed to Bucca for a little Italian cusine! It was yummy for my tummy! Mommy and Daddy were super surprised that I loved to dip the bread into a mixture of oil, vinegar, pepper, and parmesian cheese. They just don’t understand my advanced tasting pallet. Someday they’ll catch up!

It was then on to Castleton Mall on a quest to find Big Girl sheets for my new (used) bed.
SIDENOTE: Mommy had a great idea to move the guest bed into my room without the bed frame.

We came up empty handed. But Mommy did run into an old friend, Desmond, that now works at the Verizon store. On to Costco to buy a memory foam for my new bed and stinkies for Daddy. Next, it was up to Westfield to continue the quest at Kohl’s. No luck. Finally, our last store…Target. Mommy and Daddy found all these “Super Cute” sheet sets for me to pick from, but not a one of them was the Incredibles. Oh well. I settled for some pink flowered sheets instead. I think that made the parents pretty happy. All day long Mommy and Daddy told me how much they loved being with me today and that I was such a good girl. What’d they expect? I’m an angel!

Okay, so we got home and made the switch out with lots of, “Bubb, are you sure we should do this?” and “How in the hell does this thing come apart!?!?” Daddy read me a few stories and now I’m still awake laying in my huge bed wondering what the heck has just happened to me? Mommy keeps coming in to check on me, but I’m still wide awake staring back at her at 8:00. This is where Mommy is going to take it from here.

MOMMY: It’s 8:06 now and my Stinky Lee is snuggled in and asleep. I need to repeat again what a wonderful day we had with Morgan. She was awesome and reminded us how much fun this parenting stuff really is. Everyone knows that I try not to be too emotional and mushy about this Mom stuff, but I have to say that a little piece of my heart is sad to see my baby curled up in that big huge bed, no longer about to bust out the end of her crib. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of her stages and wouldn’t want to go back for the world, but I will miss those mornings coming in to room with a little smiling face pressed between the bars of her crib ready to be picked up and to start a new day. With that said, I hope everyone has a great night, and keep your fingers crossed that we make it through our lasted transition with minimal speed bumps. Love ya’ all! -The Mommy

For an unprecedented 4th time, I was a in the audience for Robots on Friday night. I took Mommy and Daddy to the Lebanon movie theater for popcorn, soda, and “riveting” show. I’ve seen this movie so many times that I’m starting to drink oil and change my socks with a wrench!

On Saturday, we finished packing up A LOT of garage sale things and, after a nice nap, headed north to drop them off at Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata’s house. After that, we did some shopping for big girl beds. I like the ones with purple pillows and I make sure to try each of them out to see if they fit me. We haven’t decided on one yet, but we haven’t given up. I’m sure the perfect big girl bed is waiting out there for me to climb in to.

A significant diaper blowout cut our shopping short and we made a pit stop at Ganny and Poppa’s for a change. We ate some snacks and watched it hail before braving the weather to hit the mall. Ganny and Mommy shopped while Daddy and I played on the playground for a while. We scared Mommy when we called from the playground…past history has left its impression. But, we were fine. We just wanted to hook back up with them so they could make good on that ice cream I was promised for being a good girl while we were shopping. We had our snacks and headed home for bed.

This morning was pretty boring. We just hung around and Mommy and Daddy kept looking for MORE garage sale things (look out Carrie!), but we’re planning on going out this afternoon, so maybe there are more treats in my future!
