Mommy helped Daddy find some more pictures of Easter fun.

It has been a very busy couple of days, and there is a lot that I need to record. Were do I start? On Friday, Mommy had the day off, so we went down to eat lunch with Daddy at Don Pablos. Marvin came to meet us there and I didn’t even spill salsa on his pants this time! I think he like that. Then, Mommy and I headed home for a little down-time before Daddy got here. When he showed up, we were up and movin again…we got ready to head north to Lafayette. We dropped off the Big Truck (I’m gonna miss riding in the front seat of that!) and went over to Chick-fil-a to wait for Ellie. I was standing and bouncing in the booth while I looked out the window and yelled “Ellie, where are you?”. After I couldn’t take it any more, Daddy and I went ahead in to the playground while Mommy waited. When Ellie showed up, I was so excited! We had big hugs and then bee-lined it to the playground. The Mommies and Daddies got food ordered and arranged, then rounded us up so we could chat and eat. 3.2 minutes later, Ellie and I were done eating and back in the playground where we played until way past bedtime. Then, as is tradition or a visit with Ellie, we convinced the Mommies and Daddies to take us to Krispy Kreme and get donuts! We were up and down the store, in between tables, spinning the stools, and collecting (clean) coffee stir sticks until about 10:30. Can you believe that Mommy stayed up that long? I was out before we hit the highway, dreaming of all the fun I had with my friend.

On Saturday, I slept in until Mommy and I had to pack up in Ganny’s Limo and head north again. I went to visit Mema and Pepa while Mommy went to get her toenails painted. We had fun playing and watching movies until Mommy came home, then we yelled down “Pepa, get your lazy buns up here” so he could take us to Pizza King. Some more Easter fun when we got back, and then we were off to Mada and Pada’s house because they were home and brought Ganny and Poppa with them! I was a little sleepy at first, but soon perked up when more Easter presents started hopping out. A little show of spelling my name, counting to 20, and singing a song was all it took to have them eating out of my hands. Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata continued to set the bar high with my 2 1/2 feet tall Easter Egg filled with goodies. When everyone was winding down, it was time to jump in Mommy’s car and head home.

When I woke up today, out house had been broken it to by the big furry one himself! Not Daddy, the Easter Bunny. He left me a basket with lots of fun stuff…dress up clothes, cookies, movies, and toys. We spent the morning finding eggs filled with money and catching butterflies from my new Elefun game:

I watched my new “Elmo in Grouchland” movie and hung out with Mommy and Daddy as we recuperated from the big weekend. We even took a nap together in Mommy and Daddy’s bed…that was fun!

Here are a few more pictures to bring things up-to-date. I hope next week is just as fun!

Bunny Ears and Glasses
Mada and Pada

2 days in a row! I’ve got a little streak going this week in the good-girl-at-nap-time department. I could get used to all of this creamy treat goodness! I must have been extra good because when Mommy and I went to Dollar Tree tonight, I got a Garfield “Happy Birthday!” balloon! We’ve been batting and chasing it around tonight and I think it is hilarious. Kitty even got in on the action a little, but backed out when I started to get rowdy.

Saturday

Mommy was up and going early this morning because she went to Indy to get her hair did. But, before she left, she brought Daddy and I some hash browns because we were being so good. After she left, Daddy and and played, read books, and watched Dora in between phone calls (Mema, Mommy, Ganny, and Carrie were all on the line at some point this morning).

We set up plans with Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata to go to Costco, so Daddy had to hustle with the cleaning and take a shower before we got there. I could have helped, but it was more fun watching him run around. When Aunt Carrie and Uncle Manata got here, I watched a couple of short movies with them from the Bonus Disc of the Incredibles while Daddy moved the car seat and the ever-essential DVD player. With everyone situated in the car, we had lunch on the way and told stories and reviewed everyone’s name (Daddy’s real name is Brian, Manata’s real name is Adam, Carrie’s real name is…Carrie).

With no nap, I was a little out of sorts at Costco. I was good enough to get to walk around a few times, but grumpy enough to spend some time in the cart a few times. After helping Daddy find everything on the list, we checked out and packed back in the Freestyle. Good thing they have 3rd row seating, or I would have been carrying the peanut butter in my lap!

Just as we pulled in the driveway, I zonked out in my car seat. A quick trip to the couch and I was out again while Daddy put stuff away.

I had a doctor’s appointment this morning, so it wasn’t like other mornings. It started off the same…Mommy and Daddy coming in to my room too early in the morning and making fun of my hair. But, when I got dressed and went downstairs, there wasn’t a waffle with peanut butter or a Pop Tart waiting for me. Instead, I showed Mommy how I can climb in to my car seat all by myself and then Daddy and I went to Denny’s for pancakes! After learning a lesson from the chocolate chip pancakes Daddy ordered for me when we went out with Nata, we opted for the buttermilk smiley cakes with whipped cream and strawberries (cherries). I called Mommy to let her know that I ate every bite! She was very proud of me!

Update: The doctor said I needed Lotrimin for my rash (Ganny was already on it this weekend!). And, just as a routine thing, she looked in my ears and saw that they were red! I wasn’t even complaining or anything…I’ve been feeling good. But, she put me on amoxicillin anyway, just in case. Daddy helped me pick up my medicine and give it to me before I went to school.

P.S. – Does anyone remember hearing stories about what Mommy and Daddy would do when they were bored (before I came along)? There is a famous one about giving each other a hug and freezing in that position to see what they looked like when giving a hug. Well, now they’ve involved me in this sickness. This weekend, we decided to practice our circus act. Check out our human pyramid!
